Job Description

Van drivers collect, transport and deliver goods in vehicles up to 7.5 tonnes in weight.

Valid UK driving license with a clean driving record.
Proven experience as a delivery driver, preferably in a courier or logistics environment.
Excellent knowledge of UK roadways, routes, and navigation tools.
Strong time management and organizational skills.
Ability to lift and carry packages of various sizes and weights.
Customer-oriented with excellent communication skills.
Professional appearance and demeanor.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Flexibility to work varying shifts, including weekends and holidays.
Knowledge of basic vehicle maintenance is a plus.
Minimum age restrictions apply according to the weight of vehicle and whether the driver holds a Driver CPC (Certificate of Professional Competence).
NVQs/SVQs in relevant areas and at various levels are available.

Safely and responsibly operate company vehicles to transport packages to designated locations.
Plan delivery routes efficiently to minimize travel time and maximize productivity.
Handle and load packages with care to prevent damage during transportation.
Ensure accurate and timely delivery of packages to customers in various locations across the UK.
Maintain a professional and courteous demeanor when interacting with customers at delivery points.
Utilize navigation tools and GPS systems to navigate unfamiliar locations.
Adhere to all traffic laws and safety regulations while on the road.
Perform routine vehicle inspections and report any maintenance issues promptly.
Maintain accurate records of deliveries, mileage, and fuel consumption.
Assist with sorting and organizing packages at the distribution center as needed.
Checks tyres, brakes, lights, oil, water and fuel levels and general condition of the vehicle;
Drives vehicle from depot to loading/unloading point;
Assists with loading/unloading and obtains receipts from customers for goods collected/delivered;
Drives vehicle to destination in accordance with schedule;
Maintains records of journey times, mileage and hours worked;
Undertakes minor repairs and notifies supervisor of any mechanical faults.

Salary per Annum: £22800

Salary per Hour: £11.69
